Fortris Desktop App
The Fortris Desktop App helps customers create and configure the Google Cloud resources required for their use of Fortris in the Google Cloud Platform project selected by them.
If you choose to sign in with Google, the app requests Google access for that setup and maintenance flow.
For general information about how Fortris handles personal data, please see the Fortris Privacy Policy.
Privacy Information for the Fortris Desktop App
This page applies to the Fortris Desktop App provided by Fortris.
If you use the Fortris Desktop App and choose to sign in with Google, Fortris uses the Google authorisation granted by you to access the Google Cloud Platform project selected by you and to view, create, or update the Google Cloud resources required for the relevant flows. Depending on the flow, this may include creating required Google Cloud resources and updating the relevant workload identity provider condition in the selected GCP project.
1. Setup of Google Cloud resources
During the setup flow, the Desktop App uses Google-authorised access to create the Google Cloud resources required by Fortris in the client’s selected GCP project, including the resources needed for key management, service configuration, secret management, and workload identity configuration.
As part of this process, Fortris stores the identifiers of the Google Cloud resources created through the setup flow and sends those identifiers to the Fortris backend so that the client can be created and configured in the Fortris system.
2. Software version update
During the software version update flow, the Desktop App uses Google-authorised access to update the relevant workload identity provider condition in the client’s selected GCP project so that the new software version hash can be applied.
3. Use of information
Fortris uses the information processed through these flows only for providing and supporting the service requested by the client, including setup of required Google Cloud resources and required software version update operations.
4. Sharing
Except as otherwise stated in the Fortris Privacy Policy or required by applicable law, Fortris does not share the information processed through these flows with third parties.
5. Storage and protection
Fortris applies technical and organisational measures designed to protect the information processed through these flows against unauthorised access, use, alteration, disclosure, or loss.
6. Retention
Resource identifiers stored through the setup flow are retained for as long as the client continues to use Fortris.
7. Deletion requests
If you wish to request deletion of information processed through these flows, please contact dpo@fortris.com.
Please note that if you wish to remove Google Cloud resources created in your own GCP project, those resources must also be deleted from that project as applicable.
8. Revocation of Google access
If you wish to revoke Google access, you can do so through your Google Account permissions.
9. Contact
If you have any questions about this privacy information, please contact dpo@fortris.com.
10. Updates
Fortris may update this page from time to time to reflect changes in how the app uses Google-authorised data or to reflect legal, technical, or operational changes.
